The Home Water Lab Team researches and writes every article on this site: manufacturer documentation, dated price checks, certification lookups and 10-year cost of ownership math.
The Home Water Lab Team is the research and editorial side of this site and of the Home Water Lab YouTube channel. We read spec sheets, installation manuals and certification listings, we record prices with the date we saw them, and we turn all of it into comparisons a homeowner can act on before signing a dealer quote.
We are a desk lab, and we say so plainly: we do not run a testing facility, we do not measure grain capacity ourselves, and we do not receive free equipment in exchange for coverage. What we do is verify: the source of every number, the date of every price, and the arithmetic of every 10-year projection. Where a figure is an estimate, the page labels it as an estimate and shows the assumptions.
The technical substance of our analysis is reviewed by Ray Calloway, a water treatment expert. He is not the writer; he is the second pair of eyes on the parts where an error would cost a reader real money: sizing, specs, certification claims and installation reality.
